Slayers Review Abridged Episode 1
Jan. 12th, 2009 06:15 pmI had to wait all day to see it, but I finally got to see the first episode of Slayers Evolution R.
Since
dqbunny did a nice summary of the episode, I decided to try a different style for a review...

Seyrune rebuilds! Hooray! And Phil is taking bets on long it will be before Lina destroys another part of the city.

Flashbacks of Rezo and past plot devices.

And we found out that Naga is secretly a Full Metal Alchemist cosplayer.
The opening is awesome. I have to go with Megs theory that Pokota might have a piece of Shabby inside his original body. I'm actually kind of hoping that Gaav and the other villains might be coming back, because if this is the last season of Slayers, can there be a better way to end it. Also, all of the gears, bubbles in the opening really seem ominous to me.
And Naga...I know some fans had theorize that she might make an appearance. I had thought she might get mentioned or appear in the background at some point. I did not see this coming! It's awesome to see everyone's reaction to her, especially Lina's first reaction.

"Al!"
"Er... not really... But so, the suit of armor seems to have Naga's personality-"
"Like Al!"
"... Yes, Sabby, like Al."

... OH GODS NO! A CRACK!PLOTBUNNY! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! MY BRAIN!

Date: 2009-01-13 01:28 am (UTC)I'm also thinking that Pokota could possibly turn out to be Shabranigdo judging by the images...though one other theory I have is that, if Rezo left all or a piece of his soul in the pot, then Shabby probably goes with it. So, if they have to let Pokota's soul out of the pot for him to get his body back, they might have to let everything else out, too.
Of course, we could also be completely wrong. XD I'm really looking forward to seeing how this season plays out!

Date: 2009-01-13 01:39 am (UTC)Theorizing is very fun! When the title "New Comer" was originally mentioned, I wondered if it would be Kuppy. XD; But I really hope Naga is in it for the whole series.

I think Naama/Naga will stay around for most of the episodes, but she is an added character (she's not in the manga) so she probably won't stay for the big battle.
