Olympic Games Start

eastofthemoonI watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games last night, and it was awesome. The light show they did was incredible. I think my favorite part was when they made it look like orcas were swimming across the floor. I would post a youtube clip of it, but there's not any yet. However, I also like how the four Chiefs were given VIP seats since the games are taking place on their land. The Aboriginal dancers they had were great to watch too.
Fun fact, the opera singer who sang the Olympic hymn as the Olympic flag was raised came from my city Fredericton. In fact, she graduated from my high school. ^_~
They also gave a moment of silence for the Georgia athlete that died yesterday which I was glad to see. The whole stadium had applauded his team when they had entered the stadium.
I thought the people they choose to carry the flag were all great choice especially Roméo Dallaire and Terry Fox's mom.
They also light the cauldron both inside and outside, with Wayne Gretzky lighting the outdoor one. The only problem they had was that the inside cauldron was suppose to have four pillars rise up, but they were having problems with the system so only three rose up.
I bet the technical staff were swearing and saying "CRUD! CRUD!" a lot when that was happening. XD
Anyway, the whole thing was awesome to watch and the games are off to a good start. ^_^
(Question, is it wrong I find the The Olympic Mascots to be extremely cute. XD )
