Disney Thirty Days #9
Aug. 10th, 2010 11:34 amDay #9: Your favorite original character

I know I'm not being too original here, but I've always loved Mickey. My favorite version of Mickey would probably have to be the sorcerer's apprentice outfit (not to mention it's my favorite sequence from Fantasia.)
What's funny about Mickey is that a lot of people forget that he was more of a trickster/mischief maker when he first started out and not so much of the clean squeaky image people tend to associate with him now. That's one of the reason I'm so eager to play Epic Mickey when it comes out because it's suppose to be a throw back to that era.
Also, King Mickey in Kingdom Hearts can so kick anyone's butt. XD

Goodness, I think it was in the Steamboat Willie short that Mickey picked up a mother pig who had been suckling her piglets, then he yanked the piglets away and tossed them. After Walt Disney saw it, he announced that Mickey was to NEVER mistreat animals again. In a way, I'm glad that Mickey does typically represent good since he was certainly a good role model for little kids to look up to. Plus, it makes more sense for Donald Duck to still see him as a friend, even if Donald suffers from jealousy.
Ooh, but speaking of Sorcerer Mickey, if and when we go to Walt Disney World, you'll love My Pal Mickey I'll be packing along! (It's an adorable plush that speaks and alerts you to nearby attractions and points of interest, but also plays games and tells jokes.) Since I worked in Hollywood Studios, I made sure to get the Sorcerer Mickey doll. We'll also have to check out Fantasmic since Sorcerer Mickey is the best part of that show.
