Day 27 - A pairing that you loved and ended up hating?



I don't hate this pairing, I just find my logic for Xellos/Filia has changed since I was younger. Their interaction is hilarious to watch, but I find the idea of them falling in love with each other is a less believable in my old age I guess. It's mainly because once I realized that mazoku can't really love (since they feed on negative emotions and are hurt by positive ones) it wouldn't make much sense for Xellos to fall in love. However, this is only my opinion and I like to read their interactin with each other in fanfics.

I used to like this pairing a lot more a few years ago as well - actually I still do, but perhaps received a bit of an overdose with a multitude of fanfics using the same setup and character dynamics over and over again. I'd be really interested in seeing a fresh look on X/F...

Yeah, I can understand that. (Also, I can see the appeal for this couple to fans).

I've found so many A/Z fics use the same plot idea over and over again. I would much rather read a few original ideas rather than 50 fics with the same plot.

I can see the appeal of this ship (shipping characters that hate each other is popular after all); but logically this couple could never work out without wrecking Filia and/or Xellos' characters and making them act wildly OOC.

^^ Oh so did I - I just happened to overlap on this one (which I haven't posted about yet). I've had every answer (except for the engagement answer) down since the first couple of days.

I guess that's what happens when you have a lot of friends involved in the same fandom. =)

Same here. While I don't have all the same overlaps -- for one, I never quite cared for X/F, so I can't put it here -- a lot of the same pairings get mentioned for positive and negative questions.

Yeah, and honestly I can see the appeal too. It might be possible to write them without making them OOC, but it would need a very good writer.

I like this pairing too. But, yeah, mazoku logic destroys it. Now that we are older and get the story more, we sorta see that Try was written in defiance to canon a bit. This included.

Better for them to be funny then actively trying to murder each other though...
