I've Returned!
Jul. 7th, 2008 03:36 pmI got back from Waterloo yesterday, all in all, it was a fun visit and I got to spend quality time with
gullwhacker.
I found a neat shop there that sold a BIG varity of posters and prints, including a big collection of Disney prints. I had wished that
ichiban_victory
secondlina and
dqbunny were with me, because I know you guys would have been exploring the Disney Prints alot too. I had a hard time deciding which ones to buy, but in the end I got a "Chesire Cat" and a "Lady and the Tramp" one to hang in my room and a Aladdin one for
gullwhacker.
Also, I've been thinking about making a new layout for my LJ. I've been mainly toying with the idea of using some of the Slayers Revolution images. Then again, I could do something with Disney, or something entirely different. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any.
My Alice Amelia doujin is coming along slowly. It's acutally turning out a lot better than I thought it would. I'm still in the rough draft stage, but I may post a sample of it later. What I will probably do once I'm done with the drafts is use my lightbox and transfer it to some good ink paper I have so I can then ink it. That way it will look less messy and I don't have to worry about my pencil marks showing.
I also found an old computer game I haven't played for YEARS because I was telling
gullwhacker about it and I wanted to show him. It was made back in the day when computer games were made to play BOTH on windows and a MAC and not seperate games like today.
Anyway, it's a game you may want to see sometime
secondlina It's called "Disney's Villains Revenge" Basically the player is paired up with Jiminy Cricket and (for some reason) he thinks it's a good idea to tear out the happy endings from 4 Classic Disney stories in order to make news one for fun. (What the heck were you thinking Jim?)
Then, not surprisingly, this turns out to be a bad idea because it lets the villains escape and take over the stories. These villains were, The Wicked Queen from Snow White, the Ringmaster from Dumbo, Captain Hook and the Queen of Hearts. The Blue fairy then comes in to inform you that you and Jiminy have to go into the stories and restore the happy endings. It's clearly a game for kids, the tasks to fix the stories are fairly simple, but I loved it and played it a million times when I was younger. Plus, I always thought the concept was fun. (I think I bought it when I was about 12-14. I really didn't care much that it was targeted at kids. ^_^;)
Mind you, this game was clearly made before the whole "Disney Princess" francize, since it uses characters that don't get as much notice now like Alice and Dumbo.
EDIT: I forget to metion. After seraching on Wiki, I found out that Alice's original voice actor from her moive did Alice's voice again for the video game. I only just learned this, but I just think it's neat that after a few decades this woman gets to play an old classic role again. XD
