Disney Thirty Days #17
Aug. 18th, 2010 11:30 amDay #16: Your least favorite classic

I know Pinocchio is a great classic and I know it was the inspiration for the watercolour background for Lilo and Stitch, but it's at the bottom of my favorite Disney movies. I think most of the blame falls onto the Pleasure Island scene. There is a reason why my mother distracted me from that scene when I was little. It's bad enough watching the children being turned into donkeys and watch them get terrified, but the fact that knowing they'll never go home is just far too creepy and sad.
My personal theory is that one of the donkey boys decided to start a revolution, fought back against the masters and then looked for a way to turn themselves back tomorrow. (There was a character in a book I read who got turned into a donkey and started a donkey revolution! One of the best scenes in the book! XD)
( The Other Days )
