Results of the Haunted Hike
Aug. 14th, 2011 05:16 pmFor those of you wondering, the haunted hike that Stu and I went on Friday night was really fun.
We went to the gallery downtown where the hike begins and there were actually a ton of bats flying around. It makes sense sense it's the part of town where a lot of the old buildings are, but the best part of it was that no one was freaked out by them. Everyone there actually enjoyed watching the bats swoop around (and we weren't bother by bugs all night so they did their job.) I also have to say that the little guys set the mood for the rest of the hike.
Then the hike began, it was basically being run by four people in all. The hike is run by a local theater group in town called calithumpians. One member would lead the hike, but they would act out a character and then that person would switch off with another person. The first person pretended to be a paranormal investigator from Transylvania, and the second one was acting as a teenage girl who was obsessed with getting a boyfriend. The third person (which was our favorite) pretended to be a solider from the 18th century. He really got into it and screamed at the cars that drove by. "Those horseless carriages have eyes of fire!" The last guy pretend to be an insane jack in the box that escaped from his box.
The hike basically took us around downtown and we got told about the ghosts that supposedly lived in the old buildings. The most famous one would the the wife of John Medley Apparently the most sighted ghost in all of Canada, at least that's what the Calithumpians claimed.
Anyway, the hike was a lot of fun and I wouldn't mind doing it again next year just to see what characters the group comes up with.

Date: 2011-08-15 03:16 pm (UTC)I like those hiking tours, even though I get so winded easily these days. I like to hear stories about the land and/or legends urban or real. xD
