If all the squeeing over the new Korra trailer, I also thought I should add this. A couple of clips from the new Thunder Cats cartoon, which I am becoming more and more interested in.

Oh, fun fact, that guy that originally voiced Lion-O in the original series will be voicing Lion-O's father in the new series. Also, apparently Lion-O and Tygra are brothers. No, I'm not kidding, a clip of comic con was revealed.

I can't post it directly here, but just go HERE to see it. Stu is betting that Tygra will turn evil, but I doubt it. It will probably cause some interesting conflict and stupid decisions, but we'll wait and see.

Also, Lion-O appears to be just a teenager in this series instead of being 12 years old in a man's body, which I am rather glad. While, it was an interesting concept for the original series, I'm not sure it would be as accepted today. Besides, if they wanted to include any romance or crushes in the new show with Lion-O it would be REALLY awkward if he was suppose to be 12 mentally.

Anyway, I'll save final judgment until I see it, but after the success of My Little Pony's reboot, I have high hopes for this.

I really hope it will be just as successful as Friendship is Magic!

Me too! We've had a few good reboots of series so far (the new Pound Puppies series is decent along with the new G.I.Joe series.) *crosses fingers*

To be honest, I'm a little skeptical about this reboot, but that may be in part because so much of my childhood feels like they're being butchered today. However, I didn't necessarily grow up with Thundercats per se anyways, but I have watched a good chuck of it and it has a charm to it like the rest of the wonderful cartoons done in it's time. With that said, I'm not feeling some of that charm in this, but it's also only a preview of what's to come so I cannot truly say either way.

There's a lot going strong for this though. The animation is superb and I'm digging the voice acting. Bringing back the original Lion-O voice actor to voice the father is wonderful and makes me so happy. I'm a little surprised by the fact that Tygra and Lion-O are brothers in this. Well actually them being brothers isn't so much of a problem, but I'm having difficulty wrapping the concept that Tygra is the elder yet Lion-O is the one who's destined to become king. What? Also, lions and tigers are two different cats... I'm so confused. Hahaha.

They mention a bloodline in the preview, so I'm assuming Tygra is a adoptive brother hence why he isn't king.

I guess I'm more willing since I've seen some good reboots this pass year, and not just with My Little Pony. Granted, I could also be totally wrong and this reboot sucks. However, Thundercats is one of the few series that hasn't gotten a reboot. Ninja turtles, He-man, G.I.Joe, even strawberry shortcake. I can't help but feel maybe they knew they had to do it well with Thundercats, but I'm an optimist.

Anyway, I shall save final judgment until I see the show for myself and probably will rant about it on my blog afterwards .^_~ For now, I'll hope for the best.

WOW! If nothing else, at least we know this reboot will look pretty and be super badass. ^_^

I don't have much nostalgia for this show since I was very young when the original was running. But I'm still pretty pumped about this reboot. The trailer gives off a very "Lord of the Rings" feel; which is great because we need more great Western-made fantasy epics (the only good ones that come to mind are Avatar:TLA and LotR).

And I agree that ditching the "12-year-old in a man's body" angle was a good call (I didn't know that was in the original O_O). It wouldn't work in the context of the new tone this reboot seems to be going for. And it would make any romance feel REALLY squicky.

Oh geez, why didn't I think about that? That makes so much more sense if Tygra is adopted. Ha, don't I feel so silly.

I'll check it out whenever I have the time (and if I remember---so many things on the brain), but I'm really hoping it won't be so bad. If they can't replicated the charm of the original series then I hope they've created a whole new charm and one that is likeable. I dunno, I just don't want people messing with things the wrong way. I mean, I don't mind it if they update things, but how do you mess up something like Rainbow Brite? I guess I'm just thinking that there's so much potential in the old cartoons to be re-imagined for today, but half the time they wipe out all such potential. Maybe I just don't understand the process of how it works?

Anywho, I'm skeptical, but I don't bear any opinion on the series as a whole yet (obviously). The preview had more positive stuff than anything and there really wasn't something negative to point out.

Oh, and I looooove your avatar. That's so funny. Haha.
