I got two of my drabble requests from my Letter Meme post. By the way, I still have plenty of spots open if anyone wanted to add more.

First one, for [livejournal.com profile] secondlina
Request: N is for Newton, Toph from Avatar: The Last Airbender

"Huh, that's an interesting theory."

Toph didn't bother to raise her head from her comfy spot against the wall in the old library of the Fire Lord's summer house. "What's interesting? You finally realize that you have no brain?"

Sokka rolled his eyes. "Ha ha, I've been reading some of these old Fire Nation scrolls." He leaned back in his chair. "Apparently there was a scholar that had a theory about gravity."

Toph hugged her knees. "Dare I ask what that is?"

"To put is simply, it's the force that pushes an object down to the ground when it falls." Sokka stroked his chin. "I like it, it's feels very scientific."

Toph tilted her head. "Um...I thought things fell because people dropped them."

Sokka shook his head. "No, no. See, gravity takes over once a person drops an object. Otherwise, it would be floating in the air."

"But objects don't float!"

"Because of gravity!"

Toph was getting annoyed. "Okay, let me get this straight. You're saying that, no matter what happens, if a person drops or knocks someone over, it's because of gravity?"

Sokka grinned. "See, it's not that hard to understand."

Toph grinned evilly. "Fine then." She lifted her hand and raised a small mountain of dirt right behind Sokka's chair, knocking the chair forward.

Sokka fell face first onto the floor. With a loud grunt, he glared at the earthbender. "Why did you do that?"

Toph smiled innocently. "That wasn't me, that was gravity."

Sokka rubbed his sore neck. "Why do I get the feeling I gave you some dangerous information?"

Toph said nothing as she made plans to demonstrate the theory to Aang and Zuko.

F is for Frolic - Kratos/Anna from Tales of Symphonia

I hope this meets with your approval. ^_~

She was a like a child who had splashed into the ocean for the first time. Anna sat in the middle of the field of flowers, humming as if she didn't have a care in the world. Looking at her this moment, one would have never guessed that she had escaped a Desian ranch little over a week ago.

Kratos stood close, keeping his guard up for enemies. They couldn't afford to be wasting time here. Kvar and his men were searching for them this very moment, while Anna tenderly stroke the petals of a daisy.

He hadn't planned on spending time here. They were merely walking by, when Anna abruptly stopped. She had stared at the flowers memorized. "I haven't seen flowers since I was a little girl."

Kratos was ready to tell Anna they needed to go, but the words refused to leave his mouth. He didn't have the heart to deny her such a simple pleasure.

"And here I thought I no longer possessed a heart," he thought.

He watched the young women gather up the wild flowers. He been trying to figure out for months why he found himself so attached to her.

"How can she be smiling so carefree?" Kratos thought. "She spent more than half of her life in a cage, treated like a lab rat, but she's smiling as if it never happened."

He had hated going to the Desian ranches. The images of seeing humans locked in cells like cattle made him feel sick. He had put up with it. It was all part of Mithos plan, at least that's what he told himself. He began to have doubts years ago when the first ranch was built. Then something changed when he noticed there was something rare in Anna.

The first time he saw her, she held a strong spark in her eyes. Kratos had been taken a back. While the other prisoners had long ago lost any signs of life in their eyes, Anna still carried hers. It was a miracle. It was normal to see it in people who had only just been brought to the ranch, but Kratos was amazed to learn that Anna had been at there since she was a small child. A normal human would have surrender and given up years ago. Somehow, Anna found the will to keep going.

He found himself drawn to this rare gem. It was this spark that led him to talk to her more and eventually helped her escape the ranch. For this spark, he willing threw the life he had been living in for three thousand years. Now, he was currently trying to decide what he should do with her.

For now, they needed to keep moving. "Anna, we need to go."

She held up her hand. "Just a sec, I'm almost done."

He sighed. "What are you doing exactly?"

Anna smiled and she climbed to her feet. Her hands were held behind her back. Swiftly, she brought out her right hand. "A flower head wreath"

Kratos blinked, unsure how to respond. Thankfully, Anna saved him the trouble and continued.

"My sister showed me how to make them years ago." She put the wreath on her head. "And it would appear that I still remember how."

"That's good," Kratos replied. It was the only answer he could think of. He was never very good at small talk.

Then Anna smiled mischievously and brought out her left hand. "And I have one for you too."

"Wait, what-"

Before Kratos could argue, she placed the wreath on top of his head. He felt awkward. A hero of the Kharlan War, the human seal to Origin, was wearing flowers on his head. He was grateful Yuan wasn't around to witness this.

Anna giggled as she took off her own head wreath. "Flowers make you look very dashing."

He shook his head. "Do you honestly think we should be wasting time like this?"

Anna gently touched his arm. Kratos flinched. He still wasn't used to her casually touching him. She looked up. The spark in her eyes was twinkling brightly. "What's the point in being alive if you don't try to enjoy yourself a little?"

Kratos stared at her. Both her and her spark were so alluring. He reached out and for the first time, he held her hand. He had been expecting her to pull away, but she remained where she was.

Anna said nothing, as he led her back to the path. He still didn't understand this girl, but perhaps he would in time.
