Yes (gasp) I'm posting some original art for once. LOL

Actually, there's a bit of story to this one. Last summer I started to sketch some original furry characters. I blame Jim Henson because I got the idea for this after watching "The Labyrinth" one night

Since then, I've been creating and drawing these characters off and on in my notebooks and such during the past year. However, now that I'm done school, I'm going to make a summer project to draw/colour these characters and then actually post them.

So, in other words, this is just the beginning. There will be more art to come. (evil laughter) Also, I don't know what to call these furry little guys, so I'm open for suggestions.

And what do I plan to do with these charaters?...I have no idea. Maybe actually, write a story or draw a comic or maybe just keep drawing them because I just find them very enjoyable to draw.





Meet Sparrow and his little brother Spruce. Sparrow tends to act like a tough guy, but he's a big softie when it comes to his little brother Spruce.

Cute! And with purple hair! XD Even if they aren't part of any plans, I always find it fun to draw new characters. Although, it's actually after they get drawn that I start to imagine stories for them. So I guess doodling is some good brainstorming. ^^

Are they based off any kind of animal?

Thanks! And the thing is I started to think about personalities, stories and such after I drew them. So yes, doodling is good brainstorming.

They're kind of a mixture between a lion/panther and an elf (hence the pointed ears) but no animal specifically.

What sort of brainstorming for these guys are you doing?

LOL Yeah, I can see how you got that idea. Although, I am planning for the characters to have different colours of fur.

Right now, I'm just drawing and figuring out their personalities, what kind of homes they live in, kind of culture and other minor stuff like that. I don't have any big story for them yet.

Although, I will admit that I got inspired for these guys by watching Jim Henson's The Labyrinth. XD
