The Graduate
May. 17th, 2007 05:39 pmIt's offical. I have graduated from University. ^_^
The grad ceremony was held for
gullwhacker and I today. The ceremony itself went a lot faster than I had thought.
I really enjoyed the guest speaker we got. He's name was Dr. RusI think I spelled his name right, a world reknown Canadian philosopher. I admit, I had expected his speech to be a bit boring, but he turned out to be very amusing and funny.
The only mishap I had experience during the ceremony was the the speaker mispronounced my last name as I was given my diploma. I never realized that "Webster" was such a hard name to say.
Oh well, I guess it's a bit of a family tradtion. When my brother graduated three years ago, the university spelled his name wrong on his diploma. (And yes, it was the same university.) XD
Oh, and it snowed a bit this morning. I'm not kidding, we had to get the snow brushes out to get it off the car. Only in New Brunswick would you get snow in May. @_@

Date: 2007-05-17 11:28 pm (UTC)They called me "Wester". I think what happened was that my middle name "Phyllis" (yes he had trouble with that for some reason) threw the guy off and that mixed him up for the rest of it. @_@
It is a fairly good university overall, but I do think they need to practice pronouncing names. Either that or my family just has bad luck with grad ceremonies. XD

Date: 2007-05-18 02:13 am (UTC)For some reason I thought you were graduating high school. XD; What are you planning to do with your major (which is what, also?)?
My last name should probably be easier to pronounce, but there are still some people who manage to screw it up. Oh well. XD
