Slayers Game

I had to go to the dentist today for a cleaning. No cavties thankfully, however, no matter what flavor they can make fluoride it still tastes terrible. @_@

In other news, gullwhacker did find a treasure online the other day. A used copy of Slayers Wonderful Since Gull has a Japanese PS2, we should have no problem playing it, so needless to say, we ordered it.

I've always wanted to played the game. I've only seen the cut scenes that ichiban_victory sent me and the screencaps she posted on her website. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it.

The battle sequences aren't as cute as in Royal (which has everyone SD and fighting on a grid), but by that note Wonderful is more like an rpg where you have to fight monsters to gain new levels...and thankfully not feed Lina and Gourry every few minutes or they whine like crazy. Have fun when Lina and Amelia get into an argument over where to eat. Your decision will change the course of the game. ^_-

How much Japanese knowledge is needed to play the game? I'm assuming that katakana, at least, is useful...

Hmm..yeah, basics would be good for when you buy new weapons and such, but I played through the game without being able to read most of it.

I must be a real weirdo, because I always loved the fluoride. Orange was my favourite, though I think I had to go with grape or strawberry once or twice. XD;

lucky~ *_* I would like to have a PSX or a PS2 to play the 3 games, but specially the Royal 2, since it doesn't work in any emulator ><
it's true that the battles are more RPG like than the others (that FF style :3), but I'd liked it more if it were a bit more like Royal; a mixture of the 3 PSX games could be far better *_*
What would have happened if Aqualord have ended as it was going to be, a game instead of a manga? :3

I could never get anywhere in Royal 2... If Aqua Lord had been a game (as planned) instead of a manga, I've a feeling even fewer people would know it existed. But, we might have been given voices for all of the new characters, which would have been cool.

(I really do prefer the random encounters in Wonderful. It actually lets you develop some strategy not to mention character levels. Royal's battles were purely for story, so after you played through one part you could keep traveling back and forth between towns you've been to (if you got lost like I did) and do nothing but stop off in restaurants to get Lina and Gourry to stop complaining. (So annoying!) It got old fast. Plus, the character combination attacks were awesome! I still love Lina's Gourry Bomb the best.)
