I got a job today! (does a happy dance)

Today, I had an interview in a small shop in the mall and I pretty much got hired on the spot. ^______^

It's a nice little store. The sell a lot of crystal and glass, and decorative artwork but what is cool is that a lot of it is imported from Italy and China. I've already met the owner and a coworker and they both seemed to be very easy going people. What is really interesting is that the owner's wife is 8 months pregnant, so with that plus the Christmas season starting, they really needed extra help which means I'll be getting close to full time hours.

I'm hired as seasonl help, but I think there's a good chance they'll keep me after Christmas. However, if not, at least they will be a good retail reference for me to us.

As someone else who had to start off small, the shop sounds like a great place. If nothing else, you'll get to know your employer well. And who knows? Maybe you'll even get to do some...babysitting. Can't be any worse than keeping kids away from dangerous cookware. ^_^;

It sounds great to work in a place like that. Besides, it seems you'll keep it for a while, too. I like shops like that, even if eventually I don't but anything ^_^U Just admiring the items.

What's great is that I won't have a problem trying to sell the stuff because it's stuff that I actually like, so it will be easier for me to sell. ^_^

Hooray! I missed this entry earlier, but congratulations and happiness about finding a job! The economy has been kind of tight lately here in the US, so a lot of folks here are in the same boat, too, needing to look for jobs, etc. I think getting the first one must be the hardest, so now that you've got this, the way ought to be a little smoother from now on, even if this does turn out to be a seasonal thing.
