Pick a fictional character from a fandom I know and I'll answer the following questions to the best of my abilities:

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

Hm, let's see...how about Valgaav from Slayers?

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.
Well, I'm not crazy about Valgaav but I don't hate the guy either. I think it's because he just doesn't seem that much of an interesting character for me. I don't care for the avenger type very much.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
For TRY, he is since he's one of the main villains of that season.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
Not really, atlhough I can understand why he wanted revenge on the golden dragon. If somebody killed off my entire family, I would lose it too.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I don't mind it, but I haven't seen much fandom on him.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
I will admit, I do like Sylphiel/Valgaav due to a fic I read a few years ago. Since they both know the pain of losing their families/home, I can see them understanding each other.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
Give him a sense of humour maybe.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)
If I met him, I would try to be friendly but unless he wanted to have a friend (which I don't see happening) I can't see us being very good buddies.

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
I don't hate the guy, but there are other characters in Slayers that I like 10 times more.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?
The only thing I might warn someone about is that, he almost has as much issues and angst as Sasuke from Naruto. XD

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Sylphiel/Valgaav, eh? That's an interesting one! Though I would think they might be too angsty for each other, I'm sure it would make for an interesting situation.

Jade, from Tales of the Abyss

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.
I enjoy Jade. He has a very original personality, almost Xellos like but he's not as annoying or evil. A very awesome character.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Yes. Since he's the creator of fomicry. If we didn't have fomicry, we wouldn't have Luke and we wouldn't have a story.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
Not really, however, I can understand how annoyed he can get when he has to deal with people that annoy him or why he gets angry when Van use his technology for his "end the world" plan.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
From what I've seen, the TotA fans aren't too crazy, except for the ones that ship pairings lik Jade/Dist...no I'm not kidding.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
I enjoy his friendship with Anise. I suppose it's possible for it to be a romantic relationship when she's older, but except for that I think Jade is just as good as single.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
Not really, he wouldn't be the same loveable Jade if I did.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)
I would love to have had him for a teacher. There would have been times I would have gone "......." but still, but I think I could get along with him.

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
He's one of my top favorite from Tales of the Abyss at least.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?
If you're told this guy is going to be your doctor before an operation...run like the wind! XD
