Viva la Cloth bags!

I can't wait for Friday, because gullwhacker is coming home for Easter weekend. (happy dance) Needless to say, I'm in a good mood. ^_^ One of the things I want to do with him is find clothing to use for his Luke costume for Anime North. Can't wait!

Although, I've notice something today at work. At LOT more stores are offering cloth bags to use instead of plactic and a lot more people are using them. The environmentalist in me is happy to see this. My mom and I has started to carry small cloth bags in our purses so that way we don't have to use plastic bag, that would end up in land fills and take forever to go away. Not to mention the fact, that there's a good chance some of them could end up in the stomachs of wild animals. So, this is one new trend that I'm happy to go along with.

It is nice to see it happening, but I can't help but feel a little strange about it, too. I guess I just can't grasp why people couldn't seem to understand how important the environment is until very recently, and it almost feels like environmental protection is suddenly a fad. But, uh, let's hope it's one that stays? XD;

I think I'm going to have to pester my mom and see if she might assist me in making a costume. But I just know they'll be weird about it. ^^;;

No one wants to look like the big bad guy polluting the earth. It's frustrating it's taking them so long to change when we've known for decades that plastic bags do much more harm than good. I just hate how places will put my purchases into a plastic bag even if it's something much too small to need a bag. Ugh. XP

I know! I cheer inside whenever a costomer says to me "I don't need a bag, I'll just put it in my purse/pocket."
