Slayers Abridged Review Episode 5

A little late this time, but here is....



The gang is tired of the filler Nama brings. Even Amelia and Gourry are annoyed.




We get super cute Pokota and Nama.



Pokota learns that *gasp* Rezo wasn't the perfect Saint.



This is Zel's "You don't know what you're talking about kid" glare



At this minute the fans are yelling "%$#@*&! Pokota don't touch!"



Hey! Look it's...oh crud!



Double crud!



Nama goes into over limit!



And thus, Nama leaves the series with a box of oranges as a parting gift and leaving the fans wondering if the seriousness of the plot will return in the next episode..

I love the murderous glares that even Amelia and Gourry are giving Nama. I wonder if Amelia ever mentioned anything about Nama telling her it was a lie?

The Pokota and Nama eyecatch was waaaay too cute! Might have to icon that one. ^___^

Nama in overlimit! XD I wonder if her Mystic Arte would be as crazy as Anise's Fever Time?

She might have. Getting Amelia and Gourry annoyed is a clear sign you're in big trouble.

It so would. On that note, makes me wonder what the other Slayers character overlimits would be like if they had one.

I do wonder to Amelia not connecting the dots with Nama reacting so violently to the word "assassin." It makes me wonder if part of what happened to Amelia's mother was kept from her because she was so young? She knows her mother was killed, but maybe Naga's part in killing Booley wasn't told to her? I could see Phil doing that just to protect both daughters.

That's true, I can see Phil doing that. Amelia was wrong, so Phil might have been worried about Amelia being scared of Naga over the fact that she killed someone.

However, then again Nama does tend to be 'jumpy' about a lot of things. Remember when she screamed at seeing the snake in episode 3? So it might not have surprised Amelia to see Nama freak out over an assassin.

Gracia was in the same room when her mother was assassinated, so being in such close proximity with another assassin would of course set her off. I doubt Amelia was there with them - mostly because she didn't even exist then, plus she doesn't flip out nearly as badly as Naga does when she sees blood. (Heck, Naga might also not use White Magic since it means being around people who are bleeding or dying, which would again trigger the memory. Amelia doesn't seem to have such a stigma.)

There's still a lot we've never been told about the sisters. Amelia mentioned in the novels that she learned all of her magic from her sister, but we've seen Naga pull off spells Amelia's never cast, so chances are that many things Naga now uses were learned after she left home. It might be just another thing to distract Amelia from who Nama really was since she obviously didn't act enough like Gracia to tip Amelia off.

A friend of mine who speaks japanese told me Lina recognised Naga at last (she said "I know who she is and she can't be defeated easily" when they were looking at Nama's empty body.)
Ok Amelia, you are the only one who doesn't get a clue!

Gosh, this episode was so hard to watch not knowing what was going on! I was expecting the awesomness of the first manga chapter so I was a bit sad, but it was a great episode, after all!

I haven't read the novels 5-8 on purpose to avoid being spoiled about Zuuma...I wonder how much time will pass before someone spoils me without knowing XD
