New AMV

*evil laughter* I finally made my first AMV using imovie on my laptop. I like it SO much better than moviemaker (for one thing it doesn't crash)

Anyway, here's my AMV. I used a Jonathan Coulton song "Skullcrusher Mountain." The nice thing about this guy is that he put creative commons license on his songs, which means he doesn't mind what people do with them, including making AMVs from his songs.

Be warned, this is crack and the closest thing I'll ever make a video to have a Lina/Xellos pairing. XD

Thanks ^_^. And yeah, reading below I'm jealous how you managed to get the 4:3 footage to appear 16:9. I'll have to think of a way to do that with any future projects I do. I noticed on mine too, some of the scene switches weren't as on time as I thought they were but I guess the rendering messed that up as they seemed pretty good in kdenlive. All in the learning process I suppose ^_^

I honestly don't know how I did that, unless Stu did something without telling me. It must be part of the program.

I remember having the exact same problem with moviemaker and I don't know about yours, but my moviemaker had an annoying habit of slapping in random scenes between each clip unless I merged the two together. Just trying to fix that problem was time consuming.

How did you manage to mix 4:3 footage (series 1-3) with 16:9 footage (Revo/Evo)?

XD Yeah, there is easily argued hinting for that. *giggle*

I would say there's much of a trick to it. I just converted the episode so they could be played on imovie and then I could drag and combine the clips. I hope that helps.

iMovie mixes all sorts of media fairly easily. Plus, she probably just used the option to put 'widescreen' bars across the top and bottom of the screen so that all of the various clips look like they're the same. I wish I could figure out how to do it in Final Cut Pro since it's nice to have a bit more editing power.

Playing with iMovie way back when is what got me interested in going into video editing. It's a pretty nice program for being 'basic', isn't it? ^_-

It really is a good program. I think I'm much more appreciative of it after all the hassle that moviemaker would keep giving me.

It's Jonathan Coulton's official website. Normally, you have to pay a dollar (which is REALLY cheap) to download one of his mp3s but for some of his songs he lets people have the option to download it for free. Skull Crusher mountain was one of them. He's a cool guy for doing that. ^_^
