Job Update
Aug. 28th, 2009 05:08 pmHere's an update on the job front.
I went back to the daycare where I did my on-the-job training to ask if there was any chance they would be needing more staff.
Unfortunately, as much as the director would love to have me, they don't need any more staff as far as she can tell. However, she did say she would keep me on file in case something turns up.
I have to say I'm not surprised. I had a feeling the daycare didn't need anymore staff, but it's fine since the director said I can use her as a reference for my resume.
So, I sent out resumes to two other day cars and I also signed up on the teacher assistant casual list. It's early in the year, so it will probably be a good couple of weeks before some of the day cares realize that they need more staff. So, for the next couple of weeks, all I can do is wait.
In case it takes a couple of months before a day care/teacher assistant job pops up, my backup plan is to just do retail for a bit until a good job at a day care pops up.
In crafting news, I'm attempting to make a strawberry tart with my felt. The strawberries are turning out cute. I also bought some plain white masks today, so I can try my hand and experiment a bit at mask making. Not sure how well the masks will turn out, but I should at least give it a try.

Date: 2009-08-28 10:15 pm (UTC)I have thought that if I decide to do commissions that I would probably sell them online, although I still haven't figured out how exactly to do that. (I'm not sure how many people locally would actually buy felt cakes.) How about you?
