The Taste of Apology
Humans know little about the mazoku race. Most sorcerers know that mazoku fed upon negative and dark emotions. What they didn't know was that their emotions each had a unique and distinct flavor. For example, saddness had a sweet bitter taste to it and anger carried a strong spice. Fibrizo's favorite was a mixture of regret and remorse. It carried a delicious taste of sweet and sour. Thinking about it made Fibrizo's mouth water.
Human felts regret many times, but the moments when it tasted the best was when humans tried to apologized. It was a beautiful combination of regret and remorse. That was why he chose the body of a child for his human form. Humans are so guliable and more likely to regret their actions when they realized they have wronged a child. It was so easy to trick an adult human into thinking they had tripped him or knocked him over. Feeling their negative emotions as they stand there apologizing for bumping into him made a nice snack.
His favorites though were those foolish humans who didn't apologize. The ones that would yell at him for being a stupid child or not respecting his elders. Oh yes, Fibrizo loved those humans. All he had to do was lure them into an isolated place and then reveal his full power to them. Their apologies then were a delicacy. It was a tastey combination of not only regret, but of fear and hopelessness as well. Those foolish creatures would beg for mercy as he tore their bodies apart.
Their cries of agony was pure music to his ears.
Fibrizo never imagined the day that the tables would be turned on him. To think, he would one day find himself begging for mercy after angering the Mother of All things, the Lord of Nightmares. He apologized over and over, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Before the Golden Lord raised her hand to finish him off, Fibrizo couldn't help but briefly wondered if his feelings of regret tasted similar to those foolish creatures.
