Lina's mind was hazy. She didn't recognize the ceiling. Last she recalled she was outside. Her finger tips brushed against the warm sheets. A soft snore caused Lina to lift her head up. Gourry was sitting in a chair sound asleep, with his head resting on his arms on the bed.

Lina bit her lip. What had happened? The last thing she remembered was- Her memory clicked in and Lina groaned as she flopped against her pillow.

For the last couple of days, Lina had not been feeling great. She had a stuffy nose and her head had been aching. Gourry had been nagging her to find the nearest inn so Lina could get some rest. Lina had refused to believe she was sick. She hadn't been sick for years, why would she be sick now?

Then she had caught wind of a local bandit gang and had run off to get her money's worth off of them. It had started normally. She made a grand entrance, the bandits quivered in fear at the mention of her name and Lina was set to cast her fireballs, but then her body betrayed her.

Her legs had lost their strength and wobbled uncontrollably. Her vision was getting fuzzy. Her last thoughts as she passed out was that she was big trouble.

She placed her hand on her forehead. She was irritated and she had no one but herself to blame. How could she had been so careless?

A mumble was heard. Lina sat up just in time to see Gourry open an eye. "Hey Jellyfish, how are you doing?"

Gourry's eyes widen. "Lina? You're awake?" He felt her forehead. "Your fever's down, that's a relief."

"I had a fever?" Lina replied.

Gourry nodded. "A high one, that's why you passed out."

Lina folded her arms. "I see, gee I guess I was sick."

Gourry's eyes narrowed. "Which reminds me." The swordsman swiftly bonked Lina on the head.

"Ow!" she snarled. "What was that for?!"

"For trying to take on bandits when you're sick!" He leaned back in the chair and folded his arms. "Do you have any idea how lucky you are? If I hadn't been right behind you, bandits everywhere would be having a huge party to celebrate your death!"

Lina winced. "So, you took care of the bandits?"

"It's not like I had a choice. You were unconscious and I had to get you out of there." Gourry shook his head. "And you scared the living daylights out of me."

Lina twiddled her fingers nervously. "Sorry," she mumbled. "I can buy you dinner to make it up to you."

Gourry sighed. "I would rather that you just promise me that next time I suggest we go to an inn you'll listen."

"Gourry, I'm sorry, but it was just a fluke" She folded her arms. "This is a one time thing, because I hardly ever get sick." After a moment of silence Gourry stood up.

"Where are you going?" Lina asked.

"To get rope."

"What?!"

"I'm tying you to that bed to make sure you don't go bandit hunting since you're not going to listen."

Lina's jaw dropped. "Are you serious?!"

"Dead serious."

"Oh for heaven-I promise okay! I'll listen to you next time I'm sick."

Gourry returned back to his seat. "Good, and I'm holding you to that."

Lina sighed as she lay down. "Well, if that's the case, I'll expect you to weigh on me hand and foot until I'm at full health again."

Gourry nodded. "Fair trade. Stay here and I'll bring you some food."

Lina turned her head away as he head for the door. She cleared her throat. "By the way Gourry"

The swordsman turned. "What is it?"

Lina blushed and pulled the blanket over her head. "Thanks for watching out for me."

Gourry smiled as he closed the door. "I have to, I'm your protector after all."

Lina's blush turned brighter as the door softly closed.

"Zel, are you sure Amelia and Phil are out here?"

Zelgadis nodded as the group walked across the field. "Amelia said they wanted to have some 'quality time' together before we head out."

Gourry scratched his head. "What kind of quality time can they have out here?"

Lina shrugged. "Their probably having a picinic or something."

"Well let's hurry up and find them," Pocota said as he jumped down from Lina's head. "We have to look for Lord Rezo's jar as soon as possible. We can't waste time-"

"LOOK OUT!"

A large rock plummeted towards Pocota. The small creature screamed but was saved as Lina scooped him up. Debris flew as the rock hit the dirt.

Once the dust settled, Gourry was the first to speak. "What was that?"

"Is everyone alright?" Phil exclaimed as he and Amelia ran up to them.

"We're fine," Zelgadis replied, still stunned. "But what are you doing?"

Amelia smiled. "Oh, Daddy is teaching me some of his new techniques."

Lina blinked. "Techniques?"

"That's right," Phil folded his arms. "Part of it is to increase Amelia's strength by having her throw rocks."

Pocota felt very confused. "Wait, Amelia I thought you said you were having quality time together."

Amelia continued to smile. "Oh we are! Daddy and I have been doing training together for years."

"But-"

Lina patted Pocota's head. "Don't try to understand it. I would say this is typical Amelia and Phil written all over it."

Very cute! Phil and Amelia's idea of "quality time" is excellent after what we got to see in Evolution-R. The others probably couldn't hang out with Phil and get away unharmed. XD;
