My Mother Has Joined The Geek Side

For those who don't know, my mother is a member of a ladies barber shop group and she loves going to the national competition every year.

This weekend the international competition is being held in Tennessee and my mother found out yesterday that the competition is being webcast. She was thrilled and made plans to move a comfy chair into the computer room so she could watch it on her desktop. However, her thrill triple when Stu told her that he could hook his laptop to the tv and she could watch it in the living room.

So now, my mom is e-mailing her barbershop friends and they're planning to gather in our living room to watch it tonight. What makes me laugh is that this is what Stu and I do when we have anime night, except we watch AMV and some anime off his computer.

In other words, my mother has joined the geek side. XD

It's just so amusing to see, I never wouldn't have expected this to happen. It's funny how sometimes it's the children that will rub off on the parents. ^_~

My mom isn't geeky in the computer sense, but she's a huge comic book fan, which she rubbed off onto my brothers and a little to me.
