My order for the boxset of Spice and Wolf finally came in. The order got backlogged due to Christmas. What's also great is that I mentioned to the owner of the store that Slayers Revolution will be coming out in March and he says he already has it on order. ^____^

I've also been checking out a few new series to watch.

First off, Kobato.

It's cute and it's the newest Clamp series. There is a lot of mystery of what the backstory behind the main character is, but it's good when you're in the mood for something cute and cheery. It also makes me laugh that Kobato also happens to work in a daycare. Plus, Ioryogi is the best demon stuffed animal ever. XD I am wondering how they're going to end the series since the manga isn't done yet. My guess is, the anime will either go for an original ending or they'll just end the anime without wrapping up the story and wait for the manga to catch up so they can animate another season.

Second, Okami Kakushi

What's interesting about this series is that the story was written by Ryukishi07, the writer of Higurashi and Umineko, but the character designs were done by Peach Pit, the creators of Shugo Chara and Rosen Maiden. I'm not normally into horror anime, but I have to admit that Ryukishi07 is a good storyteller and I'm always finding myself curious on how his stories will end. Plus, he often creates good characters. The first episode has already got me curious of what the heck is going on and learning of what's going to happen.

I should also mention that this series has a STRONG wolf theme to it, which amuses the wolf lover in me. ^_^

And finally, the third one I'm watching is Irresponsible Captain Tyler.

This is an older anime and I blame my brother and [livejournal.com profile] ichiban_victory for this one. My brother had given me one of his old VHS tapes of it and Diane sent me more. [livejournal.com profile] gullwhacker and I were laughing our heads off by the end of the second episode. Either Tyler is secretly a genius who is acting dumb or he is just born lucky, we're not sure which.

For some reason, I didn't keep up with Kobato, but the first couple episodes were cute. Ookami Kakushi hasn't really done enough for me to form much of an opinion on it yet, aside from the fact that Isuzu's brother is creepy. XD; Looking forward to seeing where it goes, though.

I can't wait for Slayers Revolution! However, I do find it very odd that Amazon Canada still doesn't have it listed.

Isuzu's brother really sends chills up your spine, especially after seeing the preview for episode 3. @_@ Here's hoping the main character carries pepper spray.

Kobato, while cute, doesn't exactly have a deep plot. Although, around episode 10-12 you get more backstory on Ioryogi. I think he's the main reason I watch this series. XD;

O.o They still don't have it up? That's weird -- you would think Amazon would get on the ball with that so their customers can pre-order. Pre-orders = money, Amazon. Remember? lol. Hmm, maybe you should email their customer support and ask what's going on?

Irresponsible Captain Tylor was recently released on DVD again, so if you've enjoyed it thus far I encourage you to buy it while it's available. My sister didn't get it back in the day so had to do without. Besides, the dub is really good! A certain Crispin Freeman voices Tylor, and nearly every other major voice actor for Slayers is there as well. ^_-

Oh, those look good. I remember [livejournal.com profile] zenavvy (I think it was Zen lol ^^;) mentioning Kobato before and I wanted to check it out, but then I forgot. So thanks for reminding me lol! XD I'm not sure about Ookami Kakushi because I'm not much of a horror fan either, but it does look interesting from the opening. I might have to look into it.

I'm not really a horror fan either, but I do find Ryukishi07 does tell a really good story and has good development for his characters. [livejournal.com profile] gullwhacker is the one that got me into Umineko.

Kobato is cute and I think you'll get a big kick out of Ioryogi too. He is awesome! ^_^
