Anime Watching
Jan. 16th, 2010 03:58 pmMy order for the boxset of Spice and Wolf finally came in. The order got backlogged due to Christmas. What's also great is that I mentioned to the owner of the store that Slayers Revolution will be coming out in March and he says he already has it on order. ^____^
I've also been checking out a few new series to watch.
First off, Kobato.
It's cute and it's the newest Clamp series. There is a lot of mystery of what the backstory behind the main character is, but it's good when you're in the mood for something cute and cheery. It also makes me laugh that Kobato also happens to work in a daycare. Plus, Ioryogi is the best demon stuffed animal ever. XD I am wondering how they're going to end the series since the manga isn't done yet. My guess is, the anime will either go for an original ending or they'll just end the anime without wrapping up the story and wait for the manga to catch up so they can animate another season.
Second, Okami Kakushi
What's interesting about this series is that the story was written by Ryukishi07, the writer of Higurashi and Umineko, but the character designs were done by Peach Pit, the creators of Shugo Chara and Rosen Maiden. I'm not normally into horror anime, but I have to admit that Ryukishi07 is a good storyteller and I'm always finding myself curious on how his stories will end. Plus, he often creates good characters. The first episode has already got me curious of what the heck is going on and learning of what's going to happen.
I should also mention that this series has a STRONG wolf theme to it, which amuses the wolf lover in me. ^_^
And finally, the third one I'm watching is Irresponsible Captain Tyler.
This is an older anime and I blame my brother and
ichiban_victory for this one. My brother had given me one of his old VHS tapes of it and Diane sent me more.
gullwhacker and I were laughing our heads off by the end of the second episode. Either Tyler is secretly a genius who is acting dumb or he is just born lucky, we're not sure which.

Date: 2010-01-16 08:19 pm (UTC)Kobato, while cute, doesn't exactly have a deep plot. Although, around episode 10-12 you get more backstory on Ioryogi. I think he's the main reason I watch this series. XD;
