Slayers Dub Review

I watched the first episode of the Slayers dub online and I really liked it.

It was great to have the original cast back, especially Gourry. Eric Stuart, I've missed you. No one did Gourry or Brock as well as you. I have to admit, at the beginning it felt like Eric Stuart was trying to remember how to play going, but he was fine once he got going.

Wizer's voice actor was great. I still think Dan Green would have been an awesome choice, but Jay Snyder seems to be a really good choice for Wizer. He even sounds a little "Dan Greenish" to me, but that could just be me.

Pocota's voice actor, I don't have a full opinion on yet, since I've only heard him (does anyone know yet if it's a man or a woman playing Pocota, because I'm not sure) chat the Dragon Slave, so I'll wait until the next episode to make my opinion.

All in all, as a fan of the original dub, I have high hopes for this one. I'm really curious to hear Rezo's and Xellos's voice actors, but we'll have to wait for those. ^_^

It's a woman -- I googled for it. The only thing I really knew her as was that she played Sora in Digimon.

Thanks! Well, I liked her voice acting in Digimon, so it will be interesting to see how she plays Pocota.

Somebody said that Jay Snyder is Dan Green (Jay Snyder being his real name?). It sounds too much like Dan Green to me not to be Dan Green, and it's not unusual for a voice actor to use another name. (Maddie Blaustein used different names, for instance.)

Pocota's dub voice is better after the first episode, the voice actress actually does a pretty good job sounding something like the original.

That's what I'm wondering, although Stu thinks Jay Snyder doesn't sound like Dan Green at all. It would be nice to get some confirmation on this. I'm going to watch the other episodes later today. ^_~

It was pretty fun to be able to watch it in English again. Wizer's voice suits him perfectly. XD

The first episode wasn't enough to hear Pokota, so I'll have to check out the second episode. I've only heard Colleen O'Shaugnessy in a couple video game roles that were very different from Pokota, making it a little difficult to imagine how she'll sound in the role.

Anyway, can't wait for March to role around!

Have to say I agree completely! I'm curious about Siterniklaas's Xelloss as well. Hopefully he will take a note out of Ishida's book. And naturally I also wonder about Rezo, since he's oneofmyfavorites *AHEM* crucial to the plot... (look I'm even using your icon! lol).

LOL I'm sure a lot of fans are curious to see how Xellos and Rezo will sounds and Duclis too for that matter. Also, March is the when the DVDs are suppose to come out.
