Since both [livejournal.com profile] secondlina and [Unknown site tag] have done it, here's my Top 11 Terrifying Childhood Moments.

11 - Ursula Taking Ariel's Voice

This is low on the list since this scene didn't scare me as a kid, but it was always creepy to me as a kid and such it has stuck out in my mind when I remember this movie. Think about it, just the idea of hands reaching and stealing your voice can give you nightmares.

10 - Hagar The Witch from Voltron
There's not really a moment with her, but she's just plain scary. I mean the evil queen in Snow White is evil, but at least she's nice to look at.

9 - Maleficent's Dragon Form

Besides the fairies, this was the only scene I truly remembered seeing from Sleeping Beauty. This was the scene that was scary and yet I enjoyed watching. This is probably why Maleficent is one of my favorite Disney villains.

8 -The Owls From Rock-A-Doodle-Doo

The way those owls would eat anyone and anything. I know owl's hunt and eat, but these owls were just ridiculous. Plus, the fact that the Duke had the weird breath to change people's form was creepy too. Bad breath much?

7 - The Spirit from The Care Bears Movie

She's a scary villain for a Care Bears movie. An evil spirit that causes a young boy to want to hurt others even if he kills them. And she changes colours! How is she not creepy!

6 - Clara VS The Rat From The Nutcracker Prince

I still enjoy this movie, but I always felt this fight came out of the blue. (It didn't fit well with the story I think) Granted, I guess Don Bluth wanted to make it a more exciting climax. However, I remember feeling really unsettled the first time I say it and it took me sometime to get happy again when I saw the ending. Seriously, the way Clara tries to fight off the dying right...the whole thing is creepy.

I couldn't find a screencap, so a clip will have to do.

5 - Eris's Death

Okay, I wasn't a kid when I saw this, and Eris's death wasn't major for the series, but her death still sticks in my mind. Slayers was the first anime I watched and with that said, Eris's death was the most bloody death I had ever seen at that point. Seeing her lay in a pool of her own blood, gave me shivers the first time. Granted, I have seen more bloody deaths since then, but Eris will forever be the first.

4 - All Dogs Go To Heaven

Just the whole movie. Even though it was about dogs and such, the whole movie scared me. It was probably because the main plot of the movie was about death and I was still trying to understand the concept, etc. I"m not so scared of it not, but there are other movies I would rather watch.

3 - Death of Optimus Prime

Growing up, whenever I saw this movie, I always had to watch the episode when Prime is brought back to life aka "The Return of Optimus Prime" afterwards to make me feel better.

2 - The Donkey Scene In Pinocchio

Funny thing about this, it actually didn't freak me out until I was older. I watched it a million times when I was 2-3, but as I got older, this scene ended up creeping me out more and more. Show how understanding and age can make a difference.

1 - The Ugly Frog From Thumblina

I got so freaked out the first time I saw this frog (the mole certainly didn't help matters either). I'm not sure why, but he did. Maybe it was his big eyes, the way his talk, but to this day, he still makes me go "eek!" I avoid this movie for YEARS because of this frog. Don Bluth, why must you traumatize children. ;_;

(On that note, I may also make a NC style Top 11 Magicial Girls list. Yes, I've had the idea for awhile. ^_~)

I guess the Little Mermaid is just one those movies lol. ^^; That scene didn't scare me either, but it was still a little freaky -- most Ursula scenes were freaky. Disney always did craft the most ingenious and terrifying villains. I think most Disney villains could give any given anime villain a run for their money just based on their sheer psychotic behaviors alone lol.

NOOOO! Optimus Prime, nooooo! D: Oh man, the Transformers movie was such a disappointment to me. Optimus died, Starscream died... wtf, movie? You can't kill off all the fun characters!

(And no, bringing Starscream back as a ghost -- if I remember correctly -- does NOT count. >.<)

Disney is good at their villains, which is half the reason they're great at animated movies. Have you ever seen the Nostalgic Critic's Top 11 Disney Villains? It's fun to watch.

Yes! How dare they kill off Starscream. He was a trademark of the series! On the Transformer DVD, they have a commentary with Transformer fans. When the scene of Starscream getting killed comes up, one of the fans said "And the first generation of Transformers died...right now."

Oh! No, I haven't. I'll go check that out. Thanks for the link. :3

"When the scene of Starscream getting killed comes up, one of the fans said "And the first generation of Transformers died...right now.""

My thoughts exactly, lmao -- And no truer words have ever been said.
