Good News and Trip

This has been a week of good fandom news. I'm still squealing over the news of a new Avatar series with a female Avatar! That's awesome enough for me right there. (It's sad that Aang probably died in his 50s/60s, but he'll probably come back as a spirit guide, so that will be cool.)

Also, I just found out that the Tales of the Abyss anime got licensed It's being done by Bandai Entertainment which are usually fairly good. It will be weird if we got different voice actors from the game, but I might forgive if they happen to get Crispin Freeman to play Jade. He would fit the role nicely. XD

Finally, I'm going to finish packing today and tomorrow evening, Stu and I get on the train to invade secondlina in Montreal for a week. I'll be bringing my laptop with me, so I should still be able to leave comments and wait not.

It will be awesome!

About time Abyss got licensed! I thought we'd never see it here!
I'm pretty sure Bandai uses the same pool of actors that Abyss used, so everyone should be able to reprise their roles.

I'd also be forgiving toward a Crispin Freeman version of Jade. And I might not mind Luke and Ashe getting re-cast simply because I'm a little sick of hearing Yuri Lowenthal's voice every time I play a game or watch an anime. I feel kinda bad saying that because he seems like a sweet guy but....dude needs to take a vacation.

I've heard the same complaint for Wandee Lee (voice of Haruhi and a lot of the Tales of Vesperia voices.) It's can get on people's nerve when only one actor can get major roles. Give other actors a chance!

I don't mind Wendee Lee as much because at least she alternates her voice for different roles and doesn't always play the same character. But it seems like Lowenthal is ALWAYS playing the "plucky young lead" and he always uses the same voice. That's mainly the fault of the people who cast him (after all, he can only take the roles he's offered). The guy does have some range (I didn't even recognize him when I watched Paprika), so it's not like he doesn't have the skill to play other types of characters.

Bang Zoom has a really annoying habit of typecasting and over-using certain actors until even hardcore dubbies start complaining. That's one of the things I miss about CPM. They mixed it up with their actors so at least it was harder to notice when the same actor was in every other show.
