Day #24: A movie that makes you cry



Bolt is mostly a fun and funny movie, however it's near end that I will always get teary eyed. Maybe part of the reason is because I've own a pet myself, but during the climax when Bolt is trying to rescue Penny and he chooses to stay with her to die when it looks like she can't escape the fire, it ALWAYS makes me tear up.

This movie chokes me up a lot, too. Heck, I got emotional when Mittens revealed she was an abandoned pet! We've only ever made pets of strays, so it struck too close to home. It's really upsetting that some people do just abandon their pets to the streets, expecting them to fend for themselves somehow.

I still get teary when Bolt shows up to save Penny, and her reaction to seeing him. If I ever find myself owning a white German Shepherd, it is going to be the complete fault of this movie!

This movie has definitely given more light to white shepherds, I know some people didn't even know they exist. A friend of my mom has one and she is one of the sweetest dogs I know. ^_^

The bit where I cried was when Mittens admitted that she didn't have any claws.

I've never owned a cat, but I know how bad it is for them to be declawed and that's also been the same reaction from every cat person I know.

Poor Mittens, no wonder she didn't trust humans.
