Four Favorite Words
Sep. 9th, 2010 05:58 pmYou know what are four great words? I am now employed! ^_^ I landed a part time job at the local Michael's craft store. No, it's not the daycare position I was looking for but this will ensure me a steady paycheck and it's a craft store which is perfect for me. ^_^ It just feels good to know that I have a job again. My first shift is tomorrow night, so I'll be happy to get the first shift over with since that's always the hardest for a new job.
In other news, I'm doing another meme, got this from

Reply with "JONAAAAAAS" and I'll give you four fandoms. You then have to make an entry writing about your favorite character from each fandom, and why.
She tagged with Slayers, Avatar, Umineko and Vesperia, so here they are.

Truthfully, I love all the slayers group, but Zelgadis would have to be my favorite. I'm not sure whay he drew me in the most when I watched it. I think I like him because as he develops in the series he's not just the cliche angst driven character, he also does develop a sense of humour which is portrayed very well by Crispin Freeman. Plus, there's the fact that his serious nature makes it hilarious when he's put into a ridiculous situation such as the famous bunny suite. Finally, I enjoy his interaction with the other characters, especially with Amelia.

Avatar has a lot of good females characters, but Toph would have to be my favorite. I like that Toph is such a different character and that the creators decide to make her blind. It's rare to have an actual blind character who actually acts blind. She also has a fun personality, which I have to wonder if it's partly due to her time spent with the bager moles since she didn't pick up her tough behaviour from her parents, that's for sure. I think she fits into the Aang gang very well which is not easy when introducing a new character in the second season. I do wish the creators had resolved Toph's issues with her parents, I would have liked to see their reaction in hearing their daughter had a hand in defeating the fire lord.

This was a hard choice since I like Beatrice and Battler a lot too, but I decided to go with Ange. She's an awesome character. This girl can literally kick her way through a group of demon goat men to help her brother. It's also amazing she didn't turn out more wrap when you consider her past and how much bullying she had to go through. I am hoping that Ange will be getting her much deserved happy ending at the end of the whole story.

Again, I love all the characters (even Karol will have awesome moments) but Rita would have to be my favoirte. She's the Lina Inverse of the Vesperia world. Her friendship with Estelle is adorable and how she insists on naming every single blastia (which are orbes that the people in this world use for weapons and magic) is funny. I like her development in the game too as she starts to think of the main group as the family she never had.
Also, here's proof of how powerful she is. Here's Rita casting meteor storm

Date: 2010-09-09 09:10 pm (UTC)Toph - I dare anyone to argue that Toph isn't made of pure awesome. She rocks! (Bad pun may or may not be intentional)
Congratulations on the job! Working at a craft store is a lot of fun. The best part is the employee discount. =D I probably spent a couple of paychecks when Hobby Lobby started laying out the Christmas decorations while I worked there. Plus I used to sew and bought an entire stack of patterns.

Date: 2010-09-09 09:25 pm (UTC)Good character choices, too. I with you about Zelgadis; he's fun because he's not just the angsty loner (and when he tries to be, that just makes it easier for the series to make fun of him XD).
Some of the Rita videos I've seen are insane. I really need to try out the blahblahblah TIDAL WAVE infinite combo sometime...Without the gothic lolita outfit. ^^; It's at least not as bad as her Seeker costume, which is just. WHAT IS THAT THING. Estelle and Rita have the most adorable friendship ever, though. ♥
You know, I can't think of anyone who doesn't like Toph. All hail Melon Lord! XD

Date: 2010-09-09 11:17 pm (UTC)I think that's the reason I love to write about Zel a lot because he's easy to torment in any silly situation.
I've done the blahblahblah tidal wave attack, it's FUN! I think my favorite costume of Rita is her princess outfit she gets from the play. (I still love that whole play side quest, it's adorable and funny as heck!)

Date: 2010-09-09 11:40 pm (UTC)I agree about Toph. My biggest geekout about Toph was the animation of her face and eyes, that were always in a random direction.
