No, just no. Even if these two weren't related by blood, just no. Zel would probably have bunny ears permanently attached to his head before he would get together with Rezo. This is probably the most illogical pairing I have ever known.

About the only way I could see someone writing sex between those two* was as a mindscrew-y abusive situation Rezo crafted to control Zel... but he doesn't really need something like that when he had Zel's admiration pre-chimera, and post-chimera Zel already seems to be sufficiently distrustful of Rezo that putting him in an abusive and incestuous relationship would be hard.

Now, the right writer could pull it off, but... well, it strikes me that you could already work with the canon information about how Rezo treated Zel and get the same level of angst and betrayal. (It's like Harry Potter in a way -- Harry was verbally abused and borderline-neglected by his uncle, so you really don't need to had habitual physical and sexual abuse to have Angst. Zel already was betrayed by his only living blood family, and you could even write his transformation as a physical violation of self. You don't really need to add things to that.)

* Which of course depends on how you define 'ship' to include only romantic relationships that are loving, or any situation that involves sex or romance.

....yeah, this is one of the major blights for pairings in the fandom. Again, someone sees characters X and Y not getting along, so it somehow equals sexual frustration/true love?

I was horrified when I discovered that a surprising amount of the fandom supports this (I'm pretty sure it isn't as common anymore but still...ew). Zelgadis/Rezo doesn't even make sense as a crack ship.

Even if Rezo was just a mentor and not a blood relative, any kind of romantic/sexual relationship would still feel squicky because it was made clear in the flashbacks that Zelgadis saw Rezo as a father figure (possibly the only father figure he ever knew).
