Abby, You Will Be Missed

For the last two days, my dog Abby hasn't been feeling well. She has not been wanting to eat and she's been throwing up. We took her to the vet today and he found a tumor on her liver. Apparently, it's amazing she has lived normally up to a few days ago.

We had no option but to put her down. Needless to say, I'm going to miss her a lot.

We had to put one of our cats to sleep when they found he had either cancer or a bad heart. I can feel your pain. It's hard losing a beloved pet.

Awwww. *Hugs* It's a hard thing to lose a beloved pet, but you made the right choice. I had a kitty a few years back who was lost to (probably) cancer, and the truth was he'd gotten to the point where he wasn't himself and enjoying life, so we opted to do the kind thing. His brother still survives, and at this moment is lively as ever. As long as he's still feeling good, I rejoice that he's still around, but I am bracing myself for the fact that, at his age, his day can't be far off.

Forever ago when dealing with the loss of my cat, I came across a story about the Rainbow Bridge. I'm not sure if you've read it before, but I always find it a comfort to read when grieving or missing a beloved pet.

I hate having to say goodbye to beloved pets, but it's comforting to think on what a wonderful reunion we'll have in the hereafter.

I'm so sorry! It's so hard to make that decision, even when you know you have no other option. It's good for her that she lived in a warm, loving home during her life. At least this can be a little comfort.
