This has been a strange week. Originally I was suppose to only get one shift due to slow sales, however because of A LOT of Valentine's Day stock that had to be put out before the head manager comes on Monday, I got more hours.

More hours= More money. Yay!

I actually enjoyed looking at all the new Valentine's Day stuff, even though I don't really decorate for the holiday or do much besides handing out Valentine cards. Funny thing that I notice, a lot of Valentine decorations/crafts have frogs and cupcakes. I guess it's because the frog is suppose to be the prince you kiss and find true love? As for the cupcakes, I'm assuming that's due to when kids bring cupcakes to school for Valentine's Day parities. (Although, my aunt told me at her Elementary school the kids aren't allowed to bring in any sweet or junk food for parities anymore. @_@)

Still, it's like they're becoming symbols like ghosts and mummies are for Halloween.

With that said, I am now craving cupcakes which is bad because I'm trying to lose weight. XD Maybe I can just draw them and that will be enough to satisfy me.

By the way, thanks to everyone who replied to my post regarding having to put my dog Abby down. I appreicate all your thoughts and comments. I am a lot better now, it just feels weird without her, especially for routine.

Old morning routine: Make coffee, feed Abby and give her pill, refill water dish, eat breakfast and make her go outside.

New morning routine: Make coffee and eat breakfast.

...It's way too easy. Stu and I do want to get another dog, but not now it's too soon and I would prefer getting one after we have our own place. Anyway, again, thanks to all who commented. At least I know Abby is in a better place.

Make felt ones! That satisfied it for me.

From what I understand, kids aren't allowed to have goodies brought to school for birthday celebrations here, either. I think some of it has to do with the whole wheat allergy deal, but I'm betting it also has to do with the whole self-esteeem issue if said kid cannot enjoy what everyone else is enjoying. (Shame on us for making a kid feel bad. Shame!) Bah. Birthday treats were always a highlight of being stuck in school anyway!

I hear you on the routine thing. It really does create a void in itself. In a good way, it shows how important she was to you, and now why her absence is affecting you as it is.

Everybody loves those small, four legged, fluffy complications...

Frogs and cupcakes? It makes... sense according to your analysis, but really?

What happened to cupid? Too cheesy?

Don't know, maybe they think frogs and cupcakes are more universal for kids? But I didn't see any cupids which is weird. They were mostly hearts, roses, frogs, cupcakes and silly animals for kids to make Valentines out of. Those were the only reasons I could think of for the frogs and cupcakes, maybe there's some secret meaning we don't know about yet. XP

Maybe the frogs and cupcakes are supposed to be more gender neutral? I dunno...
