Her best trait would be her loyalty and she's also very brave. She was willing to fight Nightmare Moon if Applejack hadn't grabbed her tail and stopped her.

Her worst trait however is that she does rush into things without thinking and doesn't always have the proper patience.

By the way, fun fact, Faust originally had planned Rainbow Dash to be an updated version of Firefly who many of the older pony fans would remember from Escape from Nightmare castle. Unfortunately, Hasbro no longer held the rights to the name, thus she was changed to Rainbow Dash.

I actually don't know, while I read that was the reason for not using the original designs it didn't mention who owns the rights to them now.
