I saw a trailer for this movie at Puss In Boots. It's a Christmas movie made by the people who make Wallace and Gromet and Chicken Run. This looks really cute.
The idea of "Santa Claus" being a family business makes a lot of sense. It's hard to believe that someone found a unique storyline to attach to a Christmas movie. That alone makes me want to go see it!
However, it bums me out that Aardman seems to have given up on claymation. Their CGI isn't bad; but it lacks the unique Aardman look. Yeah, I know Flushed Away used computers; but at least the CGI in Flushed Away tried to mimic the old claymation. This one is shamelessly mimicking the Dreamworks look. So all the characters look really generic. :(
