I'm off to a good start of the next term.
I've only had 2 classes but I'm really enjoy my class on "History Of Magic and Witchcraft." Apparently later, we're going to talk about fairies, vamapires, elves etc. Although, the subject of "Harry Potter" seems to come up at least once. My professor is really funny. One guy was going to ask a question, but he thought it was stupid. My professor replied "There are never stupid questions. There are stupid answers, but never stupid questions."
And I have just discovered that the book "Eragon" is being made into a movie and is coming out this June. @_@ I did read the book, but I haven't even heard of this until now. Speaking of books, I strongly recommend reading the "The Enchanted Forest Chronicles" by Patricia Wrede. I'm almost done the first book, but I love it. It's really funny with a nice fantasy element and Princess Cimorene rules!
Slayers volume 6 was great! I think one of my favorite scenes was Zelgadis's reaction when he saw Xellos. I thought he was going to kill then:
Then, to our shock and surprise, Zelgadis took a seat at our table like nothing had happened. He pulled the scarf away from his mouth. "Now then," he said. "What's for breakfast? I'm starving."
"Uh...Zel?"
"I decided to try the 'not polite' strategy.' It's not bad."
"You overheard me and Gourry talking?"
"Yeah. I was standing there awhile."
I wanted nothing more than to bury my head in the cottage cheese. Since when did Zel think messing with me was funny? He was supppose to be the straight man!"
XD I think this shows that Lina and the others are having an influence on Zelgadis. He certainly wasn't like this in the first novel.

HEY! ^^
Date: 2006-01-08 03:29 pm (UTC)I love the line from the book (Need to buy 3-4-5 and 6 on my part...gah. They are kinda hard to find here, I don't know why...Probably people grabbing them before me) I think it's cool because it makes Zel more human and less huffy then in the shows. His personnality in the books remind me more of the personnality he seems to be tagged on him in fanfics rather then in the series.

Date: 2006-01-08 04:12 pm (UTC)Have you tried ordering the books from the book store. I usually preorder mine so I'll be sure to get it. Zel does act alot more human and relaxed in the novels then in the anime. Although he does seems as paranoid as in the anime because he always feels he has to cover his face when he enters a town.
Still, it just shows how much got changed for the anime. For example, Gourry isn't nearly as dumb in the novels and Amelia is alot more mature too.
