Job and anime
Jun. 1st, 2007 03:06 pmWell, the last couple of weeks have been fun. I took some time off but now I'm on a job hunt. Turns out, there weren't enough summer positions in the university library this summer. However, it appears that there is a job opening for full time one so I'll apply for that, but I doubt I'll get it since I know other people who have more library experience will be applying for it, but it can't hurt to at least try. However, there is a chance a part-time position might be opening up later this summer. So, I'm planning to keep an eye out for that. Either way, I will find a job eventually.
In other news, I recently got my hands on the first two Anime DVD volumes of Karin and The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.
Both are good anime, Karin is is romance/comdey about a vampire who creates blood instead of sucking it. I know it sounds weird but it's a cute series. My only complaint is that there is way too much fanservice in the opening credits (way more than in the actual series.) ^_^;
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is a fantasy/comedy/school anime. The plot is hard to descrive. Here's Wiki's version:
Basically, a girl has the power to change and bend the world to her will and she doesn't even know it.
I highly recommend reading the original novels, it's a great series. The translation can be found HERE
There appears to be a lot of good stuff coming out this summer. I can't wait for July to get my hands on the next two Slayers novels. With the first season coming out as well, seems to me we should just call July: The Month of Slayers.
