Personal NaNo Project

eastofthemoonWith Nano creeping around the corner, I decided that I'm going to use the month to try to finish a Slayers AU fic I've been wanting to finish for a long time.
Some of you might remember I had mentioned I was working on a Slayers Steampunk AU fic. Originally, it was going to be this epic trilogy, and I'm just a few chapters away from getting part 1 done. However, life and its antics got a hold of me and I didn't finish it and began to think that it would probably be years before I finish this trilogy, especially since I'm trying to finish my original novel at the same time.
So, I ended up shelving it even though I am rather proud with what I wrote. Well, a few months ago I ended up showing![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
dqbunny what I had written so far and she encouraged/demand that I finish the story. With that said, I've come to realize that there's a lot of things I want to change if I do continue with the trilogy idea and that's if I have the time and energy to write part 2 and 3.
However, I've decided to tackle the story like this. I shall finish and end part 1 so that it's not an evil cliffhanger for readers, but it's also not a hard place to pick up if I decide I want to write a part 2 and 3 (and maybe some one shots that take place in this steampunk universe.)
So, to make a long story short, I'm hopefully going to finish this story in a month and you guys will be seeing the first chapters of it shortly after. I think I need a break from working on my original novel since I'm finding I'm forcing myself to right the next bit of it. Hopefully, my energy will come back for it once I feel triumph over finishing the Slayers Steampunk AU.
