Castle Feels

eastofthemoonI'm a huge Castle fan and I will fully admit that Becket/Castle is my favorite pairing and the sexual tension between the two just crack me up. However, that can only go on for so long until the fans get bored of it and I have always worried about how the characters would be written afterwards. I've seen far too many couples that once they're together they either don't feel like the characters I've grown to love or they keep running into issues/drama that just feels are only being used because the writers don't have any other ideas.
So, at the end of season 4 while I was grinning madly because Becket and Castle were finally together I was worried that two things would happen. First, that they would just ignore that they slept together and go back to the sexual tension again or second the mention problems above.
Only the first two episodes so far have aired of the second season, and I am very happy where the writers are taking it. It does makes a bit of sense why Castle and Becket don't want to tell everyone they're together, at least for now. Castle hasn't had many serious relationships, so it makes since that with Becket he doesn't want to risk screwing everything up, especially with all they've been through.
With Becket, she's still accepting that she can't, at least for the time being, arrest the guy that was responsible for her Mom and Roy's death. (Although, granted, I think the other reason is that she doesn't want to ruin Roy's reputation which would come out if she did arrest him.) That enough is a lot for her to swallow, so dealing with a relationship and feelings she's been fighting for years I can understand why they want to take it slow.
Plus, it would be a big change for everyone that "those two" have FINALLY gotten together. So, even though they would be thrilled for the two for the two of them, it would be a big change for everyone. While Castle and Becket figure out their relationship, it does make sense they want everything and everyone else to be normal as possible.
Granted, the couple is going to have to tell them eventually. Although, I do think it wold be hilarious if say Ryan accidentally found out and Becket and Castle made him swear not to tell anyone and it was driving him crazy. Either that or it slips, everyone finds out but they act like they don't know. That can also be really funny.
Either way, I hope the writers stay smart with Castle and Becket because after five years, I want it to be worth the wait.
With that said, I'm betting the next story plot will be about Castle's dad seeing as the story with Becket's mom is just about wrapped up unless that senator decides to try to kill Becket, but that would just feel like going over the same plot lines again.
Also, I would mind hearing more about Castle's dad, especially with learning how exactly Martha spend a night with a, we're a assuming, a high level spy. There is great potential here.
