Title: How About A Hug
Series: Slayers
Characters: Zelgadis/Amelia

Summary: Zelgadis thinks about Amelia's hugs
Zelgadis was never a hugger. He could handle a handshake and even a pat on the back, but he was never a hugger. Zelgadis had given hugs often as a child, but he grew out of that quickly.
It completely died out when he was turned into a chimera. Of course, there was Amelia. She would always greet any family or close friend with a giant sized bear hug. There was no doubt she had inherited this trait from her father.
So, along with Lina and Gourry, whenever he met up with Amelia, she would smile happily and greet him with a hug.
He'd always felt awkward about it, but as soon as he would about to tell her to not do it anymore the words would vanish. There was something about Amelia's puppy-dog eyes that made it hard to tell her no regarding things like this.
Strangely enough, over time, it began to feel natural. He certainly would never start hugging random strangers, but with Amelia it was fine. Zelgadis wasn't sure why, but he found himself enjoying her warmth as soon as she touched him. It was pleasant. It somehow made him feel more human than he had in years.
Zelgadis wasn't sure if he would ever tell Amelia that. The best he could do is return the feeling in the hug he gave back.
