eastofthemoon: (glimmer and adora)

Watched season 3 of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power this morning with Gullwhacker so excuse me while I gush about random things:

-Scropia deserves to be called best friend of the year
-Angella is the best friend squad mama bear and I love it.
-Adora I want to hug you and I REALLY think you need to not fully trust Light Hope. Her flickering red is worrisome to me.
-HA! I called it! I knew Micah was alive
-Angella better get rescued because dang it Glimmer deserves to have both of her parents. This family deserves to be happy!
-I knew there was more to Mara's story and I am so suspicious of Light Hope at this point. I'm honestly starting to believing she created the portal the accidentally got Hordak because she's been trying to get a new She-Ra for centuries and finally struck out with Adora
-There are going to be AU fics now of Scorpia and Catra ruling the Crimson Waste and I can't be the only one that felt like it was a marriage proposal when Scropia brought it up.
-In all the years I have been a She-Ra fan I never expected to actually feel bad for Hordak so kudos to the writing team for pulling this off. His interaction with Entrapta were just priceless.
-Huntara, just thank you for the squad's new buffy and grumpy aunt
-Here I had thought the gang was going to have to rescue Catra from Beast Island but now having to rescue Entrapta was a nice twist.
- Shadow Weaver is dangerously manipulative, but she has proven to be a good magic teacher and I'm concerned what this means for Glimmer especially now that Angella is gone.
-Bow realizing it wasn't their reality because his midriff wasn't showing as perfect and I love it.
- Willing to bet Horde Prime wasn't the only place to pick up the portal signals. *cough* Eternia *cough* (I know it will probably be awhile before they bring He-man in, if they do it at all, but I would so love to see Adora deal with the reveal that she has a twin brother)

GIVE ME SEASON 4 NOW!

I saw a take that basically argued that Hordak is the writ-large version of Adora and Catra. A child soldier, raised from near-birth for a cause, finding it difficult to break out of that way of thinking alone.

Adora found the sword. Catra found...leather jackets, I guess? And Hordak found Entrapta.

...good grief I'm kind of shipping Entrapdak now.

A third thing, particularly between him and Catra: being driven by that obsessive need to live up to the standards, and defy the contempt of, the authority figure that raised them.

A possible fourth point of commonality:

Catra accused Hordak of being a failure as a leader, reliant on those under him like Catra herself and Shadow Weaver. Hordak might boast about his conquests, but Catra can boast that since she took charge the Horde is four times as efficient.

How much of Catra's successes can be attributed to Entrapta's tech and Scorpia's hard work? Maybe she's just as much of a paper tiger.

Another point, Hordak could just conquer Etheria but instead he wants to show off to his 'parental figure' just like how Catra could have been happy in the Crimson Waste but instead tosses it aside for the same reason.

And now wondering if Hordak has also never experienced a 'party'.

Entrapta is all "You've never had a party? Come on! I'm teaching your cooks to make tiny cakes immediately."
