Disney Thirty Days #10
Aug. 11th, 2010 11:23 amDay #10: Your favorite song
You'll Be Here In My Heart is not a long song, but it's just so sweet and touching. Kala just sings it so gently and with lots of love. With that said, Kala is one of my favorite Disney moms.
I think what I love most about this song is that it doesn't just describe a love between a parent a child, you can use it for a couple, or for close friends. The full Phil Collins version is also nice to listen too, and I love the broadway version of it.
By the way, I followed

Kala losing her own baby made it seem natural that she'd be wanting to care for a baby so when she hears baby Tarzan crying, of course she'd take him in as her own. I am glad Disney was allowed to stray and keep Kala alive. In the book she gets killed later on by Kerchak, I believe, severing any ties Tarzan had with his ape family.
