Wedding Dress Pattern

I think I found the pattern for my wedding dress. I looked at a local bridal shop yesterday, but the dresses were far too sparkling and glittering for my taste. (I've seen tiaras with less sparkle.) Plus, I want a dress with sleeves and of course NONE of the dresses there had any.

So, since I wanted a dress with sleeves I decided to go it would be easier to have it made. A friend of my mother is a professional seamstress, so finding a person won't be a problem.

I've been looking at sewing patterns for the last few months and I found this one.

We can easily make a couple of alterations, such as to tie a ribbon around the waist, having the top and skirt match and the length of the sleeves. Anyway, I think this pattern is me and the best part is the website is having a sale on the bridal patterns. ^_^ Talk about perfect timing.

Thanks, I just love the classic look to it.

Thankfully, I won't have to worry about bridesmaid dresses. Stu had a hard time picking between his friends and brothers to be his best man, so instead we're going to have his dad and my mom stand up with us and be our witnesses. (They're both single parents, so it's quite fitting.) So, I'm not going to have any bridesmaids, thus I don't have to go hunting for good dresses for them! ^_^

Thank goodness for one less headache!! I got married close enough to Prom that I thought I could just go to the store and pick out suitable dresses off the rack.

I was wrong.

My mother is an awesome seamstress, though, so she was able to make the dresses in only a few weeks.

Also, I love that you're including your parents in such a way.
