I'll admit that I've never really been into North American comics growing up, but now my interest in them is slowly growing. So far, I'm reading Bone, Gargoyles, W.I.T.C.H, and now I think I found a new series to add. The other day, I got a free preview comic of this new comic series starting in Stepember called "The Clockwork Girl."

This is the summary they had on their website for the series:
A nameless robot girl has recently been given the gift of life from her creator, while exploring the wonders of an ordinary world she meets an amazing mutant boy and they share a friendship that must overcome their warring families.

Here's their website: http://www.theclockworkgirl.com

I'm really fond of the art style this series has. It has a bit of a Disney feel to it and this might be because one of the creators, Kevin Hanna, works as an Art Director for Disney. Also, this story seems to take place during an era that has a 19th century feel. I've always love it when a story takes place during/or is similar to that time period. So, in other words, I think I'll be grabbing more issues as this starts to come out.

Also, I've felt like posting this clip from the anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"

This is the scene when Haruhi sings the song "God Knows..." and this may sound familiar because this was one of the songs I picked for my Z/A Fan Soundtrack a while back. I love this scene, not only for the song, but how well done the animation was for it.

So W.I.T.C.H. is a comic series? The cartoon has been one of my guilty pleasures that I watch whenever I stay up late enough (finally saw two episodes in a row this week), but the plot seems interesting. I need to find out more about it though, since I've only seen bits and pieces.

I read Bone somehow forever ago (I don't remember where I came across it), and loved it. I still need to buy the huge book of the comic. The art style is really interesting. (And Gargoyles, of course I love that. I need to check to see if more are out yet.)

(nods) W.I.T.C.H was originally a comic series from Europe (I think) and Disney brought it over. However, for some reason, they decided to start it as a novel series and put certain scenes of the comic at the end of the book.

Anyway, they did start to bring over the actual graphic novels (It's up to volume 7 now). Personally, I perfer the comic over the cartoon series. Cornellia is a lot more down to earth in the comic series. Although, I did like that Caleb was seen more in the cartoon. The graphic novels are worth reading.

W.I.T.C.H Book #1 (http://www.amazon.com/W-I-T-C-H-Graphic-Novel-Friendship-Novels/dp/0786836741/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-2855368-1554346?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1187805627&sr=1-1)

I've read Bone off and on, but I've never read the whole series. However, they recently started to re-print the volumes in colour, so that's how I got re-introduced to the series. With that said, there's something you might want to see The Bone Video game (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/bone/index.html)

So, Actually, I forgot to tell you the other day, the lastest issue of Garoygles came out. I got it a couple of days ago and there are alot of nice developments in it. ^_~
