Well, I made it. Now this techincally isn't my first amv, (I've been practicing with some Avatar ones) but this is my first Slayers ones. However, I'm still learning so I know full well that it's not perfect. ^_^;

I do want to give a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] gullwhacker for converting the episodes to avi. format for me and to [livejournal.com profile] bloodangel452 who gave me so good tips I didn't know about.

This is a video I've been wanting to make since I was 17. I always thought the song "Sunday Morning After" fitted the Slayer Try episodes (mostly 15-18) perfectly. XD

Hey, you did it before I did, and I'm the one who's supposed to have the editing skills. XP I just need to convert my DVDs to .avi files as well (once I get the program, which I think I'll do now).

I'd never heard the song before, but it really does fit those episodes! Those episodes were on all kinds of crack... Good job! :D

It's sung by Amanada Marshall, she's one of my favorite Canadian singers. She does a nice variety of song of both silly and serious songs. Actually, one of my other favorite songs by her is something I think you would like too, it always makes me cry, but in a good way ^_~

You really have to wonder what the writers were on when they were writing those episodes...especially the Wonderland episode. @_@

Anyway, thanks. ^_^

Dang, she is a good singer. I am really sad to say I never ever heard of her. Sometimes I hate that the U.S. doesn't usually 'import' music from other countries, so unless a friend from without introduces me to something they know, I'd never know of a lot of singers. (I only ever knew of and fell in love with the music from the Proclaimers because of my Brit friend.)

Maybe the writers thought they'd take a page from Alice in Wonderland. I never got far in the book, but I've seen a few movie versions, and cannot stand the Disney version because it's so...nonsensical. (My brain can't handle it!) I actually did freak out some during the 'Lina in Wonderland' episode until she figured out what was really going on. Then I was okay with it. XP

(note to self: rip Amanada Marshall songs for Diane) I think that's true for alot of countries. It's easier to focus more on the local music than those of other countries, especially when it's in a different language. I rarely ever see CD from Germany, France, etc in stores. On that note, I'll have to also introduce you to Great Big Sea (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AvkyHCU7XU&feature=related) to expose you to some of the best Canadian Martime music. XD

I think part of the reason for Alice in Wonderland, is that Alice, or at least her dress style is VERY popular in Japan. I remember reading an article that there's this whole fashion trend of girls dressing in Alice style dresses (kind of like how alot of teens will dress in Goth style here, etc...) There's a better explaination HERE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolita_fashion) I doubt that's the whole reason, but...
